Miles to go before I sleep

January flew by. My time in Lesotho is flying by. I am the kind of person who tends to look to the future too much while completely ignoring where I happen to be at that point. I need to slow down and take a look around every once in a while. I forget I am in Africa most of the time. So instead of worrying so much about what I will do when my time in Lesotho is up (which is still 18 months away), I’m gonna focus on Lesotho.
I have been going to aerobics a lot lately. I love going because (a) I need exercise and (b) I forget that I’m in africa and all the stresses that come along with that. There are two mountains in Mohale’s Hoek that I am determined to climb before I leave. One is a mountain that I have fallen in love with in Kelly’s village that doesn’t look too difficult, but then there is one in town that is gonna be an adventure. I live so close to where the mountain ranges begin that I can only see a few, but if I climb that mountain I will be able to see mountains for miles. I will attempt to complete this once its starts to cool off in the fall.
I am going to paint my bedroom and kitchen. The walls are old and a fugly pale teal. There aren’t many paint options here in Lesotho, but anything is better than fugly pale teal. Also, my classroom is super naked. I dont know how my students can learn in this environment. I’ve decided that I want to paint some kind of mural on my walls. Gives me something mindful to do.
Heads up to you Americans: I will be stopping by at the end of October this year, so those of you in DC, ATL, & MIA, clear your schedules and make room for yours truly.
Basotho Quote of the Day: I’m so bored I could fly.
