Sorry it’s been a minute. No a whole lot going on. I bought a fridge. I was almost one months worth of pay, but totally worth. Now things like my bread, eggs and cheese will last more than a couple days.

I found 2 scorpions this week. The first was small, thin and maybe an inch long. But the second one, was bulky black and maybe 3 or 4 inches long. I couldn’t handle killing that one, not because I was scared, but because I can’t handle the crunching. So I got my neighbor to come over. But once he saw it he was too scared to kill it so his wife had to man up and kill it for both of us. At one point she swept it towards him and he jumped and screamed. Don’t worry I got it all on video and will try to post it this weekend.

It doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving here, which is a good thing I suppose. But I am looking forward to having a pseudo thanksgiving with some other volunteers. Kelly is going to attempt to make a pumpkin pie!

Also… we just found out that our Phase III training (where we reflect on the past 3 months) is not going to be held at the training center as it usually is in Maseru. Instead Peace Corps is making us go back to training villages where we stayed when we first arrived to Lesotho. So I will go back to living in a one-room house with no electricity or running water. But I don’t mind so much, I will be nice to have all my meals prepared for me again. Also I’ll get to hangout with the volunteers in my village, I miss Ha Makebe! The only thing I worry about is spiders, of course. I would kill about 5 spiders every night for 2 months while living in that house… and that was winter time! So I am a bit worried about the spider situation now that it is summer.
